Roy G. Gignac Honored by St Jude Children’s Research Hospital

Roy G Gignac posthumously received the 2024 St Jude Legacy Award for his long-term support of the research hospital. Roy’s support began in the early 80s when he supported the cost of an advanced artificial limb for a patient. His increased support and investment in St. Jude continued for the remainder of his life and included funding the Joan F Gignac Pharmacogenomics Research Laboratory named in honor of his first wife. Mr. Gignac had previously received the prestigious Cardinal Stritch Donor of the Year Award. Roy and Joan Gignac’s support was fueled by the appreciation of having nine healthy children of their own. Mr. Gignac passed away April 24, 2023 at 94 years of age.

Accepting the award in Memphis, TN was his son Mark Gignac and family members including daughters Carol Gignac and Connie Kozel, granddaughter and St. Jude employee Dani Smith as well as Mark’s wife Leannah.
