Stuart Turille Resigns as County Administrator for Pittsylvania County
Pittsylvania County Administrator Stuart Turille, Jr. offered his resignation Tuesday, which was accepted unanimously by the Board of Supervisors at the April 16, 2024 business meeting.
The resignation was effective immediately and the Board waived the 30-day resignation notice stipulated in his employment contract.
Turille will receive six months severance plus benefits per his employment contract with the County.
“I want to thank Mr. Turille for his service with the County and the work he has done. I want to wish him the best,” said Darrell Dalton, Chairman, Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors.
Turille had served as County Administrator since April 1, 2023.
The duties of the County Administrator will be performed by County Administration staff until a future Board meeting is held to outline a longer-term plan.
Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the County, the County Administrator is directly hired and employed by the Board of Supervisors on an at-will basis.
